Use a separate e-mail address just for sweepstaking. You can get a free one a gmail.com. You will get a lot of spam and junk mail. Always opt out of all the newsletters. Always use the same log in name and password so it is easy to remember when you return to the website.

Enter as many contests as you can. There are many different kinds of sweepstakes, Dailies (you can enter everyday), Weekly’s, Monthly’s, One-timers, Instants, Essays, recipes, pictures. Enter everyone in the household if the sweepstakes is one per person. Sometimes you have a better chance with one time or weekly or monthly entries. The harder it is to enter the better chance you have to win. If you have to write an essay or send in a recipe or picture you have a better chance to win because a lot of people will not take the time to do the work.

Watch out for Scams there are hundreds of fake emails stating you won something, make sure it is a legitimate sweepstake and that you entered it.

Don’t forget about local sweepstakes those are the easiest to win. Any sweepstake with less competition is better. Try your local radio and TV stations. I have won plenty on the Radio. Local stores and newspaper mailers.

Make sure you fill out the forms correctly and neatly so they can find you. Make sure you fold or fan your ticket so it will be easily drawn.

Read all the rules and make sure you do not have to purchase anything to enter the contests.

Don’t worry about giving your phone number address it is easy to find on the internet. Just don’t give out your social security number. If you win something over $600 dollars you will receive and affidavit in the mail then you will have to give your social security number so your win can be reported to the IRS and you will have to have the affidavit notarized.
You do have to pay taxes on your wins but only on the value of the prize. If you find it cheaper online or in an ad, save the ad and only pay taxes on the true value. Wins under $600 dollars you do not have to pay usually.
